As much as I like deer hunting, I'm glad the firearms and muzzleloader seasons are over. The season overall was on the slow side for us. Some of the highlights included seeing two guys get their first deer ever,  killing two coyotes and getting to hear the excitement in my son's voice when he called me to tell me he killed a nice 8 point while he was walking a piece off as a driver. One of the newbies wound up getting 6 (should have been 10 or more, he needs to spend more quality time with his weapons)this year and he didn't get his license until the first Friday of the season and only hunted parts  of four days with me. Our season total was 64 deer, only one of which had to be discarded due to an old injury and systemic infection. We cut, packaged and froze about 55 of the 64 at the farm. I'm looking forward to not having meat to cut this coming Sunday!!!

We still have shotgun/muzzleloader again in DE.  I am hoping to get one/two more but looking at the trail cam pics, the deer are grouped up and moving to feed at night.  So it is not looking to good for the brown.  Bright side there are a lot of ducks hanging around, and probably going to hunt them a day this week but unfortuately not many geese.  Winter has been too warm/rainy.
