Ok picked the last traps yesterday. Had a few crabs in them. Looks like the boat traffic took 50 or so traps over the coarse of the year. No more pictures until I put out again. Can't be responsible for y'alls actions. I didn't count but I gave one of the old timers 3/4 of an ice chest of crabs and I brought home 36 no. 1's for me. Don't know what to think right now. Water temp is 61 and I usually don't starting dropping traps until the water temp gets to 65. Might be an early season. Ronnie

Can you make me a grader that has both 5 1/4 and 6 1/4 measurements on it?
I could use 1 tool for both sizes.
Thanks Ronnie

Ron,
Very nice catch. Looks like you're the only person on this entire site who's still catching crabs.
BTW, where I crab, as I type this, the water is also 61 degrees. But, February isn't here yet and I have a feeling we'll get a siberian express to drastically drop the water temperatures.

Thanks for the report Ron! You're making me hungry! We haven't had any crabs running here in CT since early October! It's snowing here right now. One more year and I'll be a Florida resident. Crab all year!

Sorry I haven't got back in touch earlier but I had a special assignment for the FD.
Today we deployed 60 discarded Christmas trees in an area designated to help stop coastal erosion. It is a project in lower Jefferson Parish to help stop the wave action against the shoreline and maybe assist with catching silt behind the trees to restore some lost land. There were 15 different agencies involved. Over 20,000 trees were deployed in the last 3 weeks. Don't know if it will help but it can't hurt.
27 more duty days, 42 days till Grabbes, waiting till the Feb. weather report before I start putting out traps

They've been collecting Christmas trees for the sand dunes on the beach around her for decades. Not sure if the help, but they don't hurt and it keeps the trees out of the land fills.
