While you're waiting for a reply, you might want to try this.

Type the phase "prop stick" in the place highlighted below:

Yes.   Not that people don't want to or won't answer with some ideas, doing a search will lead you to about 400 other posts asking about propsticks and their design.

In the meantime, can you post a photo of your boat?   That will probably help.

The problem with this is its been talked about yes but not lately. How about some new ideas or pictures, if I only use the search I only get old answers and posts, and pictures. Heck this is a forum and its winter time how about some new/old prop stick pictures. I know a lot has been covered on some topics but I believe even the "wheel" can be improved some day by a new genius.

Nothing personal, other than it seems that reading comprehension is not what it used to be. Case in point; I suggested that While waiting for a reply, the search feature was available to research. I was not intending to be snobby or uppity, just making a suggestion.

You, on the other hand, seem to be suggesting that I was telling him that that was the only way to find information.

Sometimes it helps to re-read something to make sure you understand what is being said.

A guide I made attaches to the boat with 5 bolts.  Take out the pin and you only have half a hinge on the boat.

Maybe you didn't comprehend your whole post. When I see in your post saying "Newbe's please learn to use this". seems a little harsh. A new member might be  scared already to post. He may had used the search or he may not have, who knows-who cares  How about "try the search theres a lot of info on prop sticks if you haven't allready". I guess  comprehension and social skills are easily lost behind a keyboard.

I wish I had a decent picture of my old prop-stick.  I will try to take on of it in the near future if I can remember to do so.  What I wanted to share is that we created a flat plate and then welded shims to it, that bolted to the inside wall of the boat. (See picture, sorry not great pic)  We then made the prop stick out of aluminum that would slide down in to it.  You could easily pull it out when running.  The plate stayed there but was small enough that it was out of the way and hardly noticable.

I just received this propstick on Friday with the gimbal rod holder mount.  Very nice and I like it, can't wait to try it out.

These look nice, but no need for a flap to stop snoods from getting wrapped?

Hate to say it, but that aluminum will wear out just as fast as pvc.

thats what makes mine pretty much, indistructable.  the chassis is made of hi-density polyethelene, all of the rollers are rubber (yes they do roll freely) and all of the hardware is stainless.

$20.00 bucks for a new bead of aluminum where it wears and another year I go, well I hope to go:)  However, you have been at this a long time so I'll give it a try.

Depends on how much you use it and what size line you run also.  If you go occasionally, I don't see why you wouldn't get 2 seasons out of it.
