What date and place will your 2012 crabbing season begin?

I plan to kick things off on May 5th in my usual early season spot in the Great Egg Harbor Bay off of Somers Point, NJ.

Plans are to hit the season opener for VA in mid March and MD April 1.  It will be just a taste test to see whats going on.  Hope it will be good enough to let the gear ride.

I'm planning on dropping traps on opening day, weather permitting, from the pier at the Navy Rec Center at Solomon's. The traps have been too dry for too long and even if the crabs are still asleep, the view is awesome and I know it will only be a matter of time before they get up and around. Great quiet time to contemplate the season ahead of us.

It all depends on the weather and if i get crabs bitting at the striper bait (clams and or bunker) before hand.   April 21 or 28th sounds about right if the weather keeps up if not than it will be May 5th  and it will be in Great Bay, I will run out of scotts landing into the bay  But if there is a Sunny 70 degree day and I am off might just try corbin city real early just like last year (Cabin fever issue)

I need put an asterisk on this.   If Pacquiao and Mayweather fight on May 5th in Vegas, I plan to fly out for the fight.

I have a feeling there's going to be a lot of nice BIG crabs this season and also a early year. My dad and i are planning to head south to hoopers island at the end of April. I can't wait to eat some crabs. I almost bought some the other day, but decided to just wait it out.

My season always starts April 1st. But thats not to go only for crab. Thats still early so I ensure that everything I have works and if it doesn't I have time to get it straight before my first real trip the beginning of may down around cambridge.
