Yesterday,my wife and I drove to queen annes county, just to ride around and look at all the public boat ramps around kent island and the chester river. Then went to dinner at the fishermans inn.Man I can't wait to get down there and crab.Is there room down there for one more boat from the western shore. How crowded do the public ramps get during the season. The biggest parking area was at the kent narrows ramp.Do the little out of the way ramps fill up fast. There were only ten public ramps we could launch at the rest were for car toppers, canoes and such.

No more room. There isnt any crabs over here on the shore. Go to the Patapsco or the Severn. They have more crabs and better parking.

Magothy River has way more crabs, then the whole eastern shore.

Shouldn't have any problems. If ya do, I know a private ramp that will cost less and gaurentee plenty of parking.  Cool

[Sam Hill] yeah it does. The South and West/Rhodes rivers are even better. Go a little more south to the Pax. Now thats where the crabs are. Catch a bushel every run on a 300 ft line.

Unless you own a tire shop, you better get some solid rubber tires on your truck and trailer, you hit the western shore.....

And a thick padlock on your trailer on the eastern.....

I'd just go to the pax....why hang out with those queen annes county locals?   Grin

Yes launch at the kent narrows ramp its an all night ramp just make sure you get your permit for there.  Best to get there very early.  best to park underneath the bridge to keep your vehicle out of the sun.  Plenty of crabs in eastern bay and chester.  as you see some are trying to keep you away from there.  Most dont know what they are doing anyhow!  They are suppose to be helping you out.  I got your back!

He has enlightened too many crabbers at the Wye.....That's why there are no more crabs there....His skills and prowess have decimated the Wye of it's catchable crab stock. It's a real shame that one guy can cause so many people to become crabless Cry

Seems to me he ask about kent narrows not the wye.  If he were to ask about the wye I would of been more then happy to help the man and his wife out.  Try helping someone out once in awhile instead of being a smart a**.  I let that wye river stuff go about skills but you guys keep bringing it up.  I will be giving autographs out at the wye get together.  Free of charge.   laugh laugh laugh laugh

Dsweck,

I'm confident that all the parking areas fill up quickly on a weekend.  Best I can tell you, if you are unfamiliar with the area, is to try some of the different ramps and devote some time to exploring the area with your depthfinder.  Also a navigational chart with water depths may be of help.  You certainly have quite a few ramps to pick from with a single Queen Anne County ramp permit. I can't clue you into the weekend situation because I never turn a wheel on a weekend, but I'm sure it is a zoo. If you can swing some weekday adventures it would no doubt be more pleasing.  Hope this helps.

You would do much better to head up to Jersey and Delaware.  They have much bigger and better tasting crabs.  Plus the people are much nicer.
