I rented a house with a private pier and put some lines and a few traps in the water each morning.  Day 1 I caught 11 decent size 5.5"-6", and Day 2 I caught 15 around the same size.  The biggest one I caught was a 7" female.  I know, I'm small time...using hand lines and what not....but it was still a lot of fun  Smiley

Sorry for the late reply cja313, law school is killing me and I haven't been on here much!  I was down a little bit past Montross, VA.  I don't own a boat (yet!) so, handlines it is.  It's always a challenge since they do like to let go, so I put a piece of electric tape on the line to let me know when there's only 1 foot of string left, then I get the net in the water and go for it.  It's even more of a challenge after a 12 pack  Grin

Yea I grew up Hand-lineing when No one was around to take me out on the boat.  Never did think of putting a knot or tape a foot above the chicken to dip the crab before you could see him.   Probably woulda got a lot more with that simple method.  Learn alot of things on this site!!
