You should do good.  I been bare potting and getting enough for a meal.  Quit last week. Sick of crabs.... Smiley  Plus I lost my gloves and got bit good. Twice. Grin One bite went clean thru my little finger.  Cool

Ouch! I bet some discouraging words were a-flying over that!

Those gloves are probably in that safe place - the one that's safe from you. Roll Eyes

I seem to have one of those "safe places", too - as much stuff as seems to be in it, it must be the size of a barn - you'd think I could find it! Sad

Just curious as to what is going on. 2 years ago I did great crabbing. Last year sucked. This year 1 trip was horrible. I thought I heard over the winter that there was a great supply of crabs heading into 2012. Are we in the wrong spots, is it winter dredging or too many commercial pots? Just curious..... I go out with droplines and a couple traps......

I was crabbing out at the second marker, 6-10', and not doing anything.  But my peeler pot were hot.  I moved into 2-4' and have been bare potting plenty.  Havn't crabbed in 2 weeks so they could'a turned off.

WHAT A CRAPPY DAY ON THE WATER
RAIN HELD ME OFF TILL NOON, , SOMEONE WAS IN MY USUAL SPOT WHEN I GOT THERE, (THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED), BROKE 2 DOOR LINES, ON 2 TRAPS, THEN THE FUN STARTED, STEERING CABLE BROKE!!!!!
MANAGED TO GET IT LOOSE AND HAND STEER, TO PICK UP MY GEAR AND GET BACK TO THE DOCK
10 CRABS TOTAL, I WILL SAY THIS
10 NICE CRABS!!!!!!!

Tip: If you can move the motor and you could, tie your paddel (if you have one) to the motor and use it as a tiller handle.  Wink
