In addition to my golf clubs, I'm thinking of bringing my crab net and a few traps to Hilton Head this April. I was thinking of chicken-necking and/or scapping. Any advice on technique or places to try for a newbee to the area?

I'm not sure about Hilton Head, but Paradise Pier on Hunting Island is about an hour north and usually has good crabbing. They bite best when the tide is going out.

As soon as you get over the bridge look to your right. You will see a dock with public access. Watched people crab there back in 84 when my girlfriend lived there. They did OK. GOOD LUCK mako.

Just pick up SC Crabs at my local Seafood store 6in across the back.
