Soft lay vs # 5
«

I have several #5 lines and there are times when we get some good tangles. Trying to avoid that at all costs this season and will be adding a winder . Do the braided soft lay lines really tangle that much less ? We have a couple more weeks till we go back to work so I have time on my hands to make some new lines if need be. Let me hear what you guys think between the 2 , pro s and cons of each .
Thanks

I currently use 1/4 in softlay and like it just fine but.... If your using a winder # 5 locktite may not work in the winder due to size- too small. Also if i were to build new lines i'd use medium lay instead of the of soft becuase I"VE HEARD that it last longer and pulls better. Also if you build new lines you should consider this, 1200 ft line with baits every 4 ft = 300 bait, 5 ft. = 240 baits and 6 ft.= 200 baits

I only use soft or medium lay and 3/16 snoods on all my lines.
Pros Cons
#5 Price Tangles and Knots
Soft Lay If you get a knot you can Price
usually just shake is loose.
Works well in winders.
Lasts a lifetime
