ray , not sure why you would think the Judge is a wet boat, we had it out today with 2-3' ers and 20 + winds and felt that it was a very dry boat .Thats after coming out of a Parker 2320 .  Just wish I had more time to play with it right now but we are slammed with work. Got to make it while you can!

How do you plan to handle the illegal towing width?
A permit for over width restricts the times the boat may be towed, so an early start is out of the question.

Reds, i've never seen or heard of anyone stopped for that offence. my 24 ches. classic is also 9 ft wide and the guy i bought it from trailered from pasadena md to ches. beach during the trophy season all the time ,he said never a problem. Myself, i only trailer 1/2 block to my local ramp to crab so i'm sure it won't be a problem unless i decide to trailer to sandy point to fish which has crossed my mind now that i have the bigger boat.

The law in Maryland is 8'6" wide on dual lane highways. 8' on single lane roads.

A permit is mandatory on all widths over that. I believe the regs are 7:00am to 3:00pm Monday thru Friday.

Fine is around $1000 for over width trailers without permit..

And technically if you use a trailer for commercial purposes and your gross weight of towing vehicle and trailer is over 10,000 lbs, you are supposed to have a DOT number.

I'd have a 25' C-Hawk in a heart beat, if it wasn't for those regs.

Thanks for the info Reds.I'm probably under the weight limit but def. over the width limit. weight would be close,i'm pullin with an F150 ex. cab. , boat has an 88 hp evinrude but the boat is not very heavy it's self , also addingabout another 250 lb for new canopy as we speak, the old canopy was around 100-150 lb.

How you tell on the gross limit is by the registration on the trailer plus the tag on the body of the drivers door frame of the truck. Add them together. Truck may be around 6800 GVWR
If your pulling a tandem trailer your probably over 10K. Single axle borderline.

De-rate your trailer, tell them your not commercial and hope they don't weight you.
