My nephew Scott just sent me a photo of a black drum he just caught down in Rockport, Texas while fishing off of a dock.

That's a nice black drum ron.. I had one hooked years ago off stone rock / sharp island light.... on 15 lb spinning rod.. needless to say didn't get him in.. so many boats alll drifting together..... ended up had a guy cut me off with his prop cause I could not horse it.... our two guest were using our bottom rods... oh well.... that is why they cal it fishig not catching.... they are good to eat.. but tough to filet/ clean  they have tough skin and will dull a knife in no time....
