Set my crab pot out for Sat. and Sun. at the under construction park near the old bridge site. Caught about 1 1/2 doz. Almost all were 6 to 7 inch.  Checked the pot twice a day. I think I may have caught more as the trap had been moved a couple of times. Pretty slow action.

There is a comm guy with traps in a diff location that some say empty all traps he finds. Moved my pots to the the other side of OIB bridge and have no problems. Generally let them soak 2 days.

On Sunset Beach this week. Looking for some fresh blue crabs either live or steamed.
Is it safe to go to Bird Island to try? Is there a place to rent/buy crab lines? I've never tried to catch them and I have a bum leg in a walking boot, so this might be a 'crackpot' idea.
Thanks community,
