Yup, they're in DE.  My buddy from work said over the weekend in 3 hours caught 21 keeper blue crabs, and like a 100 Peekytoes.  Has pics to show.

I haven't tried them yet.  He is supposed to pull his pots again today, and if he gets some.  He is bringing me about a dozen since I saved a couple days on his project with mapping/analyzing the DE Inland bays at work! haha I will give a report!

From the looks of those pictures those crabs bear a striking resemblance to the Dungeness crabs that are starting to migrate down from the north.

I agree with Ron, they are smaller.  So my friend from work gave me a dozen to try today.  Steamed them up and ate them.  They taste pretty much like a blue crab but a little duller.  There were more meat in the claws than body.  Good but ain't nothing like a big blue!  But it is good to try diff things.

If you look the peekytoe up on line it says they are a relation to the dungeness. Looks like a lot of peaple use the meat more for soups/salads and lobster roll kinda dishes and not for steaming and eating like the blue crab. I havent seen them before now, looks like I might though this year! Does the state have any regulations (size ect) on keeping the peekytoe  compared to the blue claw?

We used to catch these off the Long Branch fishing pier. The meat is in the claws and we called them rock crabs. The fish stores sell them as rock crab claws at 3 dollars a pound. the taste is similar to the Florida stone crab. The body meat isnt worth picking for. As far as blue claw crabbing goes the crab dredgers in raritan bay have stopped dregding as they arent getting any as the crabs are out of the mud. Dredging season ends 3/31. I think it may be time to pot crabs already. Good crabbing to all
