how do yal retrieve your trotlines at the end of the day.  i was wondering, what a good way to do this.  what are some ways to do this, besides using a winder which is expensive?

I have seen guys use an old hose winder like from a garden hose.  I am thinking by winder you are referring to a hydraulic winder which is indeed expensive...

Ask the wife to stand next to the helm after a few adult beverages and tell her what a wonderful job she is doing while I shift the boat in and out of gear:)Smiley  That does not always work so a winder it is for us.  Best $700.00-$1300 bucks you can spend especially on a hot summer day after being out there for hours laugh

If your not using snoods use a garden hose reel to deploy and retrieve. Never any tangles. I bought a Hanny hose winder off ebay. It was on a damaged fire truck for the jaws of life hoses. Got it cheap cause they are like $1000 new Shocked. Plus if you have a big enough freezer put the hose reel right in after baiting
