200 traps in the water after the closure. Had pretty good first run for this time of year, 200 lbs #1's 100 lbs #2's. Fell off to less than 100 pounds total on the second run. Lots of white crabs and peelers that were thrown back. Then comes the wind, has us tied up for the past 9 days. Crabbers in the marsh around the lake are doing ok, they don't have to contend with the wind but lots of white crabs and peelers. We got about 10 inches of rain yesterday and more on tap for today. Our season was bad last year, hope this one is better. HOWEVER the catfish are biting!!!!!! easy limit of 25 in about 2 hours on juglines in the bayous. Also caught two nice alligators but they were put back...gotta wait til September on those.

Waiting on that front to come through today.  4-6 inches of rain expected with possible severe t-storms.
Winds are howling with local coastal flooding.  Tides up 3'+ over normal.

Woooooooooooooaaaaah, you bringin up old memories of my early SE Tx days.....In the 70s we would tie them jug lines and before you could get them baited you had fish on the line....just had to refrain from checking them....Sam Ray/Livingston mostly...Didn't crab then...I wish I had now...they ever find the guy that was lost around Cleveland?
