Just saw a more recent article that says 17 million gallons per day and they may not have it fixed until Thursday. Plenty of groceries out there for the crabs now.

That really is sad, and if I want to rebuild my bulkhead I have to pay upwards of 1000.00 dollars for a permit to do so, provide the Army corp of engineers and the State of MD an "Environmental impact statement" as my little 100ft bulkhead may polute the whole bay.

They know how bad they are gonna mess up the bay they need to know if your gonna pay for their damage and or contribute to it as well. |

 Man that's nasty.. Kidding aside it is sad. That funk will spread all down the bay to all the spots south of the effected area. There needs to be a stop to this. People need to be held accountable for this sh%#. |

Heavy rainfall also 'flushes' every rat turd, dog turd, etc. from the whole city INTO the Patapsco.
Plus I'm sure that the city is full of decrepit sewage lines.
The city is re-doing the sewer lines that were placed a long time ago directly under/along the creek bed at Herring Run Park near Lake Montibello. It used to be a common sight to see (and smell) all the grayish looking raw sewage that was leaking from those aging pipes. Along with all the baby wipes and stuff that clung to the low hanging branches. I would be afraid to get even a drop of Herring Run water on my shoe. You could see the man hole covers missing. Probably when too much volume in the pipes popped them off. All that stuff has been leaking 24/7 from Herring Run into the Back River, then out to the bay.
When you drive thru 695 across the Back River bridge, you can see all the grasses that have been planted. It looks nice, but I know what lurks upstream.
If you read about current day Chernobyl, wildlife has rebounded in the absence of humans.
Moral of that story: Nature can co-exist in a nuclear wasteland, but can't seem to thrive when humans are in the equation.
Are we worse for this planet than a nuclear accident?
