GreenHorn looking for Advice

I have not been crabbing in about 20 years and looking to get back into it this year. I used to crab up in NJ and now living down here. What is the difference between pots and traps if any? I know the limits on amounts and size, but how many traps can I use? Is a license required? Some people post yes, some post no. If I have traps out I can also have lines too, right? Is there a season here in Va? Thank you for everyones time.

Mike, at the top of the "VA Rules & Regs" page (where you posted this question), you'll find a link to VA's current crab regs. If you click on that little Blue Crab at the bottom of any page on this forum and you'll find all the info you ever wanted to know about crabbing. Try the hard shell crabbing link first.
