Out on the water around 10am, water temps around 56, drove around and check out different spots, saw a few crabbers.  Dropped 10 traps 10-12 with no luck :/   1130 decided to goto our regular spot and dropped the trotline.  Stayed out till 4, started slow with 5 keepers in 3 runs.  As the water temp rose, more crabs showed, ended the day at 58.5 surface temp, 4-5 ft with 40 keepers, 3 at 7"

I sure havent heard to many stories of great catches south pax river either.  Had a friend out yesterday, 4800' of clams and caught 32 crabs in 6 hours.  I sure wouldnt call that good.  I spent as much time and had even less.......you could call my catch a snack at best.  Sure would be nice to see a few pics of what crabs look like from yesterdays catches.  I had so few, I almost forgot what they looked like.   Wink

I would say you did great.. Nice job!! Were the crabs really heavy. Kinda wondering how they made it through the winter. They were kinda light in the fall due to all the crazy weather we had.

He didn't tell ya his dad had to litterally kick start them.  Wish we could have run more than a 1000 feet, would have been even a better day.

I'd be real happy with 40 crabs right about now and some ice cold Boh bottles to wash 'em down.
