Anyone been out to Mattamuskeet lately?

Edit: Anyone been out lately?
Was thinking of heading down to Lake Mattamuskeet this Friday (April 6, 2012). Wondering if it is too early in the year and if anyone has any recent reports.
Thanks for the help

The crabs are pretty huge down there and yes you can only keep a dozen per person.

There is a limit of 12 per person per day. I've had pretty good luck the last few years with them being pretty full and meaty.

Fairly certain unlimited traps, and for those who dont know, there is a difference between "crab pot" and "trap" At least I never saw anything in rules or regs as they would fall under hand devices like hand lines.
Haven't had time or really the burning desire to head down there just yet this year, BUT I am between now and Memorial Day. The river out here has been producing pretty crabs ....and so tasty, along with the 2-3 dz softies each week.
