My name is Dan.  I live in Fredericksburg, VA.  Originally from Minnesota (central area), then Littleton, CO for 10 years, then Fburg.

I've only been on the East coast for about 2 years, and have been exploring this area and things to do.

I've been a Minnesota fisherman all my life (lake fishing), and tried fly fishing in Colorado (streams and rapids)(and remained at the novice level !), then I did some camping last Spring at Kiptopeake and saw some folks crabbing.  Seemed like fun, and kinda peaked my interest in trying it.... but don't know the first thing aout the crabbing process... so here I am in this forum.

A couple of questions....

Where do I start ?

What do I need to do.

Enjoy..... Smiley

Welcome aboard.

Check out the Hard Crabbing Know How section and the Virginia Crabbing resources are to help you get started.    Also, click on the little crab at the bottom of the page which will lead you to an area where there is all kinds of useful info.

Welcome Dan.  Someone forgot to mention:  THERE ARE NO CRABS IN VIRGINIA. laugh
Inside Joke.  You'll catch on. Grin

Married a girl from Cheyenne.  30 yrs. now.  In fact I'll be back in Cheyenne the end of this month for a wedding.  Colorado Denver area is beautiful.  Taking this Southern boy and placing him in mountain country was a culture shock not counting physical.  Had a nose bleed for two weeks.  Thought I was going to die.  Couldn't catch my breath.  Took me about a year to get accustomed to the altitude.

Once again good luck,
Ronnie
