I'll let you know for sure in the middle of the month.  Gonna get 10 peeler pots there.  Marshall's quoted me 17 bucks each, 10 or more.  I would rather get them from Dick but they don't take the CC I need to use. Sad

I know they are less then big mesh vinyl.  Marshall's gets 25 for vinyl hardcrab pots, 10 or more.  I've never had any galvanized big mesh pots.

How is vinyl coated wire?  I know there is less of a chance of scratching the boat (or yourself), but I read somewhere where vinyl can give off a chemical or something that can spook the crab.  Is that true?

I've put unpainted, black vinyl hex and unpainted galv hex side by side off of my pier - galv catches more. That's just my experience, somebody else may be different.

Black vinyl hex is $24
Galvanized hex is $19

Both from Eddie.  Only the mouth braced.

Wouldn't it be easier to make two 30 second phone calls then to post something here?

It would of been alot easier, thought thats what the forum was for, so we could share information! Didn't know that was alot to ask!

Anyways, I was looking to get about 50 galvanized braced pots. I guess I'll make a couple phone calls tomorrow and let you guys know! Thanks

Why hex wire?  Why not square?  Why black instead of red or green?  What's braced?  Rebar!
What brand Riverdale or Shepard?

$23 red 4 funnel riverdale 12 mesh  high.

Stiff wire is hog ringed around the pot to make it stiff.

Small mesh?  Mine are 7 mesh high (big mesh).

Here on the shore they call the re-bar(irons) "frames".

I use 3/8".  It's bent in a square to match the bottom of the pot.  The ends are welded.  1/2" with 2 zinc's makes the pot to heavy for me.
