What prices were you getting? I don't know whats reasonable but i think i was paying $1.50 or $2 a lb last season.  More than that?

fresh bunker can be tough. Yes the bait stores are $$ and the netters dont always net for bunker. They usually only net to get crab bait for themselves. The route I took is to catch it myself . It takes some time but its fresh and it makes a huge difference while rock fishing. If you want it frozen ( for crabbing) I may be able to hook up with a guy to buy a bushell. A gill net lic is cheap to catch your own if you have a boat but sometimes the bunker isnt there.

no problem. the only stores I know of to get fresh bunker is port penn bait n tackle ( as fresh as money can buy usually) , captn bones in odessa, and smiths bait in leipsic ( good bunker usually also). If you find another place with good bunker I would also be interested if the price is resonable. Where are you going to try fri? I am planning on a fri trip myself . send me a pm if you have a line on bunker

jack thats cheap. Bunker sells for $2 each most places. The problem is their ideal of "fresh" isnt my ideal of fresh . I dont want bunker 1 or more days old. Most guys catch it and by the time its in the store its been dead for atleast 12 - 24 hrs. As Im sure your well aware of it starts to decay fast and the rock can tell . I have seen days fishing in a group of 15 - 20 boats and limit out in a short time while others are just watching us. The secret is FRESH bunker . Only been dead 10 min before its on the hook  Wink. Now if I could keep them alive I would be set. I have used a 50 gal drum with airerator but they will die fast.  Huh Huh Huh
