Too early on Long Island???

Where in LI? Most likely 1 1/2 - 2 months too early.

Whatever the normal time table is for up there, move it up three weeks.

I've been catching dozens of 5 inch rock crabs with 2 hotel traps.  In the past 2 weeks I've caught about 10 blue claws too, but they were all small.  The biggest one had maybe a 3.5 inch shell.  There are some out there.  In about a month I think it's going to really pick up.

I use Motel 6 traps, but me takes the bulb out so me doesn't scare em.................    Just jokin ya der - thanks fer da post.

In all the years I have been catching crabs I have never started out crabbin before mid June but this year I am seriously thinking about trying for them in May.

Im getting the itch sooooo bad! I found a kick [arse] spot in seaford last year and cant wait to throw the traps in...1st week in May I'll give it a shot unless it starts getting hot really soon.
