Sorry no pics.  Had to rush to the market.  After waiting for the winds to lay down I finally left the house at noon.  Started running traps by 1245.  First 6 traps didn't have a keeper crab.  Moved 10 traps futher east where a few more had been showing up.  Next 60 traps almost produced 60 pounds of 1's.  Then the bottom fell out.  Ran the next 60 and don't think I caught 20 crabs.  Made the turn and started heading back when I got slammed.  Someone ran close to 60.  Went the next hour putting 12 crabs in the boat.  Got to the end of the line and started catching crabs again.  End result.

220 traps on a 3 day set:

97 pounds of 1's                     30 pounds of 2's

Next run will be Monday

dang ron, 60 traps.. that's a killer.. i've had a few run, but it looks like just other crabbers checking to see what's in my traps. even had one nice enough to rebait .. but someone running 60 traps.. that would drive me crazy.. you know it has to be someone crabbing near you to know what your boat looks like because with the amount of boats out right now, you'd have to be a fool to run another man's traps.

well, as far as the catch, mine jumped up this time, but the crabs are definitely grouped up. i was lucky enough to have most of my traps on them. there was an on/off switch and when i got out of them, the traps were full of small 2 to 4 inch crabs. not a keeper out of about 10 crabs in the trap. noticed that there was a slight color change in the water and the water depth was about 1/2ft to 1 ft deeper where the crabs shut down. got 10 more traps ordered so i'll be running 119. (lost another trap to the motor last run) why is it i always eat up the newest traps?

It hard to take having someone else run your traps after you have invested a great deal of labor and money in them.Hopefully they will fill up for you on your next pull.
