Went out to see if i can get lucky and get a couple blue claws, but no luck. I had 8 traps working and 4 hand lines. Got about 8 monster rock/stone crabs. Decided to take em home and try them.....man! were they great! Any locations in Delaware where they are catching them?

Crabbster out!

Couple of warm days ahead will get them moving there again.  What part of the Barnegat were you in? Southern end would proably pick up sooner around the creeks.

Those rock crabs your talking about are they like a tan color? If so I've crabbed off that pier one day early in the season like this and caught literally 10-15 of them in each cage. Felt like I was dragging an anchor in. if I knew they were any good I coulda had a feast!

stone.....i believe some call them rock crabs too. They are the huge crabs they sell on the boardwalk for like $10 each. big time rip off since you can only eat the claws and the legs.....meat is very sweet though!

If they were stone crabs your supposed to rip one claw off and return them to the water, a new claw regenrates in 12 to 24 months.  Your not supposed to kill them.  Claws only.
