since we're talking a lot of corn...
what's better--
white, yellow or mixed corn
steamed, boiled or grilled
with or without husk
fresh or frozen
big or little kernals
with butter, old bay or sumthin else
hot or cold
so many decisions
Everyone knows that white corn is better than yellow.

What is Capt. Rons boil recipe?
It's a closely guarded secret recipe handed down from generation to generation and not readily available to hand out to just anybody! (Don't think that's true, but it sure sounded good, didn't it? )

My cousin in Ellicott City, MD, is proposing an amendment to the Maryland State Constitution: Article XX, which would make it illegal to boil crabs in the entire state. Believe that that barbaric practice occurs in some of the more southern states.

Boiled is the way to go in my opinion. I clean them out first and then get a big pot of water going. I add a habenero pepper. salt, pepper, and lots of old bay. After I take them out and put them in a bowl, I sprinkle some more old bay on. Tastes amazing to me...

I eat my crabs steamed, but when I want to pick the meat for crabcakes, I boil them, meat is firmer and easier to separate from shells, and has a better appearance and texture.

Myself in Morgan City, LA, is proposing an amendment to the Coonazz State Constitution: Article XX, which would make it illegal to steam crabs in the entire state. Believe that that silly practice occurs in some of the more northern states.

I like to eat my crabs after they are in the fridge for awhile, so I find boiling to be better. IF you do it right, it's great. If not, it can be mushy.
