On a spur of the moment, I decided to try a place I've never been to. The place was WC Britton Park out of Baytown, Tx. Water temperature was around 78 degrees. Incoming tide. Using hand lines. Windy conditions came up later and when the wind started making whitecaps, that's when I left.

Lots of small non keeper crabs although they were almost 5" from point to point.

Did come back with 11 keeper crabs. Biggest was 7 3/4". Smallest was 6". Going to have them for dinner tonight.

Good catch, still want you to try carrying a couple of traps on your yak and set them out while you fish.  Worked well for me.  Most I carried was two, and put them in the water not far from launch point.  Did well.

Glad you found a new spot for some crabs. Where are the pictures? Have you crabbed the pier at Sylvan Beach in La Porte?

Being computer illiterate and with a new camera, getting pictures into the computer from my camera isn't my forte' so I leave the camera at home.

I didn't even know there was a pier at Sylvan Beach in La Porte. Looking at Google maps, I've been thinking for my next crabbing trip I would try crabbing at Fort Anahuac.

Here is a picture I copied from the net. It is a nice pier I think it cost $4.00.
