I took two of my boys (8 and 3) crabbing at Oyster Creek Park on Saturday evening.   It's a nice park for fishing/crabbing with kids.  It has a pier and a playground and bathrooms.  We put four throw lines out - three had chicken wing tips on them; one had chicken livers.  I couldn't come up with any chicken necks so I used wing tips from a batch I had marinating for Sunday lunch.

We caught one small blue crab on the chicken livers and nothing else to show.  The wind was blowing 20+ most of the afternoon.  There are quite a few oyster beds around the pier so it was making it tough to check/pull in the throw lines without snagging them on the shell.  The crab we caught was on the back side of the pier toward the marsh grass.

We caught to small redfish while minding our lines.  A good afternoon but I'm going to try a different crabbing spot next time.

All the best,
Ishmael

Thanks for the report.  I had thought of trying to crab in Oyster Creek before, but guess I'll need to find an area without oyster shells.  They cause me problems under the causeway.
