I couldn't wait another day to get out there and crab so when I saw the weather report for sunshine and 85 degrees I figured why not. I had a blast. Had the traps in the water by 9am and wraped up the day by about 1pm with 25 nice sized keepers, mostly males. Could of had another dozen if I had kept all the 4 1/2 - 5 inch ones I tosed back for another day. Not all that many small one either. I used 5 traps and 5 hand lines with the traps out performing the hand lines 2 to1. I would get crabs on the hand lines but they wouldn't hold on long enough to net them. The crabs were stuffed with meat and I know this is going to sound weird but not alot of guts. I think maybe this is going to be another good season, I hope. I'm going to try and attach some pictures.

Nice job Mark, I was thinking the same thing with the heat. If the weather stays warm it's bound to keep them active.  Wink

Nice looking crabs.. I seem to have better luck early season with my traps also. By June i don't even bother with traps on the pier, handlines work better and i have more fun with the handlines.
