Like Kevin said.the greenheads do take over. I have done well down there but only about 1 hour before high tide and maybe 1 hour after the tide turns. Once the greenheads get there it's easier to use traps. too hard to net them while you're doing the "greenhead dance"  Smiley

Geez ted thats a little harsh, the guy was just asking a question, isn't that what this is about ?Helping others,he has no boat,he's looking for spots to handline.
I didn't mean it that way Frank, it's not a shot at Mark I just find it funny jersey having a early start and the chesapeake season still in limbo.

As for dropping traps in at that location, I've seen someone there everytime I launched, but never with many keepers.

If you look at the map you'll see that it's a long single stream that tees off a small creek that runs from Great bay and then the main stream from GB to dry bay and it doesn't show much current, the only flow is the tide so anything getting back that far is under it own power.

That is a great photo. I can lose hours at a time going through old hunting photos of us kids growing up hunting with dad. My favorites were the ones of my dad and his hunting buddies before me and my brothers were around. Smiley sorry off topic a bit. Lips Sealed

Is that a single shot? What, was it too windy for a sling and a rock. How old are you??  laugh laugh

If so, You have my respect. I bet i could barely fill that sling with my pump.  Just ask the Duck Creek Geese that dodged a box and a half of shells one opener.
