Tried the Patuxent just north of Solomons and a creek nearby, water depths from 6 to 14.  Had a trotline baited last year and kept frozen all winter, later re-baited while out crabbing as it was slow.  2 hours running the line, net total: 1 crab about 5 1/4 but heavy, another that looked about the same that dropped off early.  Really didn't see a lot of promising sign on the line, but it's only just a matter of a few weeks.

Good luck to everyone this season-

I highly doubt it. I have been out four days so far this week with clams and necks on 4000 ft and haven't even came close to that and that's with moving around to a new spot each day and working 8 hours.

I think there was a bit of sarcasm involved with Crabbyd's comment!  Wink

no sarcasm at all...show me pics.  From someone that spends ALOT of time out there and has lots of friends out there also, I have not heard of any report like that this year so far and I haven't any reason to doubt those that I'm close with.  I'm not saying its not possible but show me the pics and make me a believer.  I'll be the first one to say congrats and job well done.

Funny thing, my buddy has been in same area he is talking about for the last 2 days with clams and not even close to what he is saying! He did so well there for the past 2 days that he is going 10 miles a different direction and trying there?
