talked to the boys and the genereal feeling is if you find the owner - charge him $150 per trap to clean up the beach, can't renew license til he pays

NOT ONE waterman took responsibility for their derelict traps and said we should clean this up

you guys just scream -- just don't touch my trash traps

and you wonder why

Common sense is you don't mess with what ain't yours.

I apologize, I didn't think about you being that close to D.C. and your idea of common sense being different from the rest of the country(excluding CA). laugh laugh laugh

when was the last time and I want the date that you went along the beach and cleaned up your your derelict traps

I understand being down south and you are, whether you know it or not, BS goes a long ways and memory don't. SO, I understand if you don't remember ever doing it.

I don't have a beach within 100 miles of my house so.... but I participated in a 10 day derelict trap removal program July 2011, picked up 177 derelict traps with aprox 50% being recreational traps. Our program is funded 100% from our license and tag fees.

My Father lives down in Oriental NC.  There are commerical traps every-where along the shore line.  He says the sailboats coming in and out of the town drag the pots all around the sound.  I don't know who picks up the old pots but someone must at some point, cause they are as far as the eye can see.

Down here, you'll see peeler pots on the beach all the time.  They are there to dry....
