K so you live though the night, a snoot is actually a snood - I do not care as I understand what you are asking, but heaven forbid be careful in the future. I have seen many a fella taken down and roasted for calling a Trot Line a Trout Line.

Ok the reason you may have this problem of the Snood wrapping the prop stick is because you do not have a Mud Flap attached to the prop stick. This device keep the snood from wrapping around the stick - see my pic.  If ya have more questions I will be hiding in the weeds.  Grin

Very nice DP.. Without this mud flap thing will get pretty dirty fast. Nothin like coming home from a long hard day on the water covered from head to toe in mud, with a full basket.. PRICELESS!!

MUD FLAP.  When you bait your TROUTLINE, what are you putting in your SNOOTS chicken necks or shovels. Its just a flap.  GEEZUS.

snoot lube for the prop stick.......... laugh laugh laugh laugh

not really, you either need the mud flap or a roller that is big enough fort he snoods to roll over without going under it.

In the interest of brevity and clarity, if a trot line with snoots is used, should we refer to it as a "snot line"?

Use at least 3" pvc or just put a flap below like DP shows in the pic assuming the problem is the snood is wrapping itself around your "roller".
