Headed out at around 9:30 am  with Joe jr and Pinchy.  Weather was nasty all day and water temp was 57 deg. The 2 marinas along Great bay blvd were packed with trailers. Got out on water and after couple hours, not a hit. Talked to a few boats and same thing. Had to head back to marina and while waiting talked to a guy retrieving boat. He had 2 nice keepers and he told us what area.

Headed back out and there had to be 50-60 boats in that area. Made some drifts for the next 4 hour and picked up 3 with all being keepers.  20, 19.5, and 17 5/8 inches. Fish were thick and meaty. Last year at this time they were a little on the lean side. Probably heading back out again next week. Bait of choice was killies with a long squid strip.

Fishing has been really slow down here.  We were out all day yesterday and nada.  It was the talk on the vhf too. "No fish today".  Must be the "Supermoon".  Grin

Sounds like 3 nice keepers... Cool

People were nailing them down in the Great Egg Harbor Bay.    When we came back to the dock with our crabs, one of my neighbors was smiling from ear to ear because he had limited out.

Nice work Philly Joe, sounds like you really hung in there.

My 2 keepers were 18" and 19" yesterday at Ludlam Bay, water 59-60f, caught on killies and cut bait strips. Only 3 shorts.

Just did a 4 day trip to Wachapreague and it was slow as well. Picked up 5 keepers in 4 days. Winds blew Saturday and that made the waters merky for Sunday and Monday. Only had 10 throwbacks. Not what we were hoping for.

I didn't get down there this year but that's a great spot. Love those 50 ft. channels and endless drifts...and the restaurant that cooks and serves your fish at the dock!    Grin
