what do you use for a top to keep crabs from climbing out?  had a bad problerm last year with crabs getting out        my tank has 2x10 sides with 4 inches water  this year      its a new tank

I use 1x1 mesh crab wire...  But I don't think I have ever had a peeler climb out.  My problem was the empty shed was there but no softy. At first I thought the other crabs were eating them until I saw a green heron having breakfast one morning.

My tanks have 2" x 10" sides and the only place the crabs would crawl out was in the corners. The crabs will pile up in the corners. A small triangle of wood over each corner stops that. I finally fiberglassed the insides of the tanks and rounded the corners. That eliminated the problem completely and also improved the water circulation.
