I knew I would be driving through downtown Wareham today so I brought along a frozen chicken leg, a length of string and my net. I set up behind the firehouse.   I got there about an hour after low tide and crabbed for about an hour and a half.  I saw a lot of little crabs following the tide up stream, and I was able to net a dozen keepers with a few of them being over 6 inches.  Its not a massive haul but it is enough for dinner.  I have been out crabbing here in Wareham several times already this year, and have come home with dinner most of those times.  It looks like it is shaping up to be an extraordinary year for crabs in Buzzards Bay.

Man never in all my years of crabbin (been doing it since the early 1970's) have I started before mid June yet this year I am sorely tempted to go down next week and try my luck with my traps!
