Best Time for Crabbing

Hello all,

I would like to know under what circumstances the crabs will tend to eat such as weather (clear, cloudy, windy, rain) as well as the tide condition. In my very limited experience, when the tide is at maximum and the sky is sunny, the crabs tend to bite more. Toward the evening and the tide is low, even at the deepest spot on the pier, the catch is almost nil. I am going crabbing tommorow and the weather will be cloudy and any help will be appreciated. Its best when there is movement in the tides. As far as weather goes, sunny,warm but not hot with a nice breeze and a cold beer is best for crabbing

Hi

I went crabbing and I got 5 keepers crabs in 4 hours (one was undersized and returned) at the Shem Creek Pier. I really don't know if that is considered good or not. DP
