Capt. Ron Lk. Pontchartrain shrimp report

Hello guys and girls. Opening day went shrimping in Lk Pontchartrain. Shrimp were thick in Lk Borgne but didn't want to make the car and boat ride so I went to Lk Pontchartrain to catch a few for the neighbors and myself. Caught about 30 pounds of shrimp before I tore the net. Caught an 8' cypress tree and ripped a four foot hole in the bottom of my net. I can be patch but don't have the time right now. Shrimp were 50-60's out the water which isn't bad for opening day. Give 'em 2 weeks and they'll be a solid 40-50 medium shrimp.
Here are a few pictures of me testing, throwing out the net and my catch. ENJOY.

No never seen the guy but the Corp is getting ready to screw up his hunting grounds. They are rocking the entire shoreline of the lake. Should have done that 30 yrs, ago and saved 100 yds. of shoreline.

Nice haul. Where's the best place to launch to get to Lake Borgne?

Ya can launch at the Chef or Rigolets. Several places in St. Tammany Parish.
For that matter you can launch in Bay St. Louis and make the run westward a few miles till ya hit La. waters.
