i shot this tom on opening day of turkey season here in mass.  i listened to him gobble off his roost for 10 minutes or so before he flew down.  the landowner keeps chickens and every time her rooster crowed he would sound off.  i clucked once or twice and 5 minutes later i watched him fly down and land only 10 yards from me.  he took two steps and that was it.  personal best turkey...18.5 lbs 11" beard 1" spurs.

today, i used pieces of his neck and managed to catch 11 keeper crab with my girlfriend...my first turkey in mass helped me catch my first blue crab in mass.  all in all a fantastic day.  at this moment they are turning red in the pot as i sip this gin and tonic.

hope everybody had a great memorial day weekend!
