plumbing

OK, I built a nice slough box and purchased a pump.I want to use pvc piping(w/pvc cement)to carry water up to the slough box and a short piece of washing machine hose to transition from my dry pump to the pvc plumbing. My question is,Is this food grade stuff?I know there are plumbing standards for potable water and that some hose is not considered suitable for drinking water. Are there food safety issues with this stuff or am I reading too far into things?

Use CPVC . You can buy Food Grade NSF vinyl tubing if that's the way you want to go.

By the time you put those bacteria laden crabs in there for a few days and you see what the water looks like - you may stop eating crabs, let alone worry about whether the plastic and hose is "food grade".

Can't use CPVC in the sun.
Your thinking too much. Ever caught a crab on 4 day old bunker or a nasty raw chicken neck?
