No, I did....was real close to getting the bright yellow (since yellow is my favorite color), but I thought the hot pink would irritate him more. A woman's work is never done  Grin.

I think I may have twisted mason line. Whenever I cut the end, it frays into 3 pieces. I'm trying to make handlines (pool float + sinker + hook for bait) but there's no way for me to get the hook tied on when I can't get the frayed line through the end of the hook. Is this really not the case for braided line?

Instead of tying chicken legs or bunker to a line, it's easier to just hook the bait. I've seen others on here do it.

No need to re-rig, just take my six floats and stick bait on there and throw them in water...would save me time in the future.

Braided line is the way to go - more expensive but does not unravel. Oh course it need be small enough to pass thru the hook eye.

I'm gonna have to try it then. These hooks have fairly large eyes and the line I got would seem to work, but it just unravels when cut and there's no way to get it through the hole. I'll post my success or failure with the different line.

Place a dab of glue where you are going to cut it - dont use Elmer's water will wash it off - something like model cement. Make the glued area large enuf so you can cut in the middle of it. - does 2 ends at once that way.

Hey guys, color blind doesn't necessarily mean zero color distinction. But for crabs personally, I haven't noticed any difference. I've used green,  white, and monofilament. Switched to white pretty quick since it's the easiest to see. Grin At least in my limited experience.

I grabbed white, since pink cost more and you got less. Honestly. I paid about a dollar more than I was at a different store for the twisted, but I'm getting more line and it actually works for my application, so I'm glad i saw this thread.

  crabs are colored blind!
Crabs are not color blind!! Look at the colors on a crab. If they were color blind this would all be unnecessary.

I picked up big octopus hooks. Don't see why they wouldn't work but if they don't I will get snelled.

It's a little difficult when the thing frays into 3 pieces. Never thought to burn it but getting the braided line gave me no issues, so I will stick with that.
