de fish police are on the hard side and the reason he dumped the crabs
was he didnt have a license. we went flounder fishing and had one exactly 18", by the time we got back it showed cooler shrinkage. it measure a little over 17and 3/4 " the man measured it and threw the fish in the drink and fined my buddy 51.00 for a short fish. ive seen them do the same with clams at massey's. they dont mess around!

OK,  DNK you needed it, OR Md if under 48/2ppl etc......Anyway, I "guess" he was down near Fenwick Island??....Yep, then you better know "where" you are....Were they "crabbing"  De, or just "transiting"?? We go thru this in NJ after the stripers close, except 3 mi out, but you have to come in thru closed area and dock etc in closed area....I used to fish some De waters of Del Bay and we made sure we followed their rules. The LEOs love to bust outa-staters when they can Grin

They are pretty ridiculous.  My family has a place on the Little Assawoman, and last year they were following people back to their docks to inspect each crab.  I dont know what happened because for years you would go all year without seeing one of these guys.  Problem is their attitude.  They reamed out at a family friend who's in his late 70's and been fishing/crabbing the area for 40 plus for having a 3rd pot in his boat, which wasnt baited up.  He just didnt get around to removing it from the boat the previous day.
