Crabs have been out deep lately, but you can usually do all right hand lining downtown.

I don't know, I've never tied a Ben Franklin to a string and tried.  Grin

Spent a few hours at the museum yesterday and all I got was a sunburn.  Ended up going to Quality Seafods to get my crab fix. Undecided

Well, that would explain why there weren't any.  When about do they come up the river?  Or, do they?  Don't get me wrong, I love to be out enjoyin' the scenery as I'm "crabbin'", but I'd like to catch something too.

They have usually started heading that way by now, but you never know.

How deep are you trying to crab? At least here on Pamlico River with this heat etc, crabs are practically on shore.....depths from 2 to 5 feet. Also what bait are you using?

I'm using chicken.  Crabbed at two locations in E City.  One by the Albermarle Museum, the other, just over the bridge near the marina.  Each location 5-6 feet deep.
