Years ago I went with a buddy to Backriver MD and launched at a fellows place called Bill's - it was pay as you go. The ramp was very steep - needed 2 to launch as you lost sight of the boat when it was on the ramp until you truck was also on the ramp - anyone know anything about this place?  Still there - who do ya call - gone - whats the story?

I pretty much grew up at Bill's in miller's island, we didn't call it back river  laugh

he rented boats etc, etc.

Paul's boats was next door and miller island boat rental was down the road. Haven't been back there in years

ah the memories

and yea the ramp was ruff. I did launch there when I got older for old times shake. Remember you parked your trailer across the road in the lot was full

The family business dates back to the 1950s, when it served as a boat-rental facility. Mike Poleski, a lifelong resident, can remember when there were six boatyards on Millers Island. Today his full-scale marina is the only one still in business

I guess old man bill has definitely passed on and it is on bing maps

might have to stop down there if I'm in the area - it's gotten built up and hi end
