I can remember about 6 years ago maybe 7 or 8  Grin  .... I made a late season run to a southern river. It was too much to drive back and forth in one day.  Duane (Crabby D) hooked me up with an inexpensive hotel to stay at and put me on the crab.

Didn't he tell you to flip the matress?  laugh

I've talked to people in the past few years at the ramps and a few said "they heard things were picking up" or "the reports have been good". When I ask if they are BCA members, a few times they said no, but get reports off TF and BCA. I talked to two seperate people that launched because of TF reports last year. One complained because they didn't catch what people said they were catching.

Start asking around at the ramps and see for yourself.

I have been on this site for many years and I once used to broadcast my catches like every newer member on here does.
I remember that. I think you only had 4 daughters then, and Seaweed still crabbed from a bathtub!! Grin Grin Grin.

I understand your point and it was a good trend.. Just to stir the pot for sake of discussion. What about all the poor reports? Does that clear out the creek or river?

Not sure if the welfare crowd would want to be able to do the work required to crab, and I do believe they'd eat the chicken before they got to the water

There sure are more crabbers on the Bay. I can guarantee you this site drives hoards of people into productive spots. Right now I only see one or two guys crabbing on the GP. Wait till someone comes on here with great report of the catch they got there and within a day or two that river will see an exponetial increase in crabbing traffic swell. People will start complaining about all the people on that river and it will actually get worse because of it as the mad crab rush starts. I will then start to count over 50 boats crabbing between the RR bridge and Maxwells every morning. This not due to a population increase even though there is one, it is due to freely accessible information to lazy cyber scouters... I have seen this unfortunate cycle repeated year after year since this forum has been around.

If you want your good spot to be less crowded and freely available to you with prosperous catches don't talk specifically about it on here. But if you want to be a "great guy" and come on here and tell everyone where you are catching your crabs and  "help" them with information in the spirit of "this is why it is called the reports forum", well then don't cry when you can't even get your boat launched beacause the dutch navy took it over and that river is soon crabbed out... Just smile and say to yourself "I sure am helpful!"
