Hello all. I'm a 30 something father of two looking to get away for a few hours each weekend and do a little crabbing. I have fond memories of crabbing with my late father along the seawall in Waveland and Bay St. Louis, MS. Our grandmother lived there years ago.
I've been out last weekend and again this morning trying my luck in Lake Pontchartrain in southeast Louisiana. Results were not all that good. Last weekend, I caught about 1 1/ dozen. Most were so small they went back in the water immediately. Those that I kept eventually went back as well since there wasn't many of them. This morning was even worse. Only caught about 8 really small crabs. Although I did have fun feeding an alligator.
Anyway, my stomping ground is gong to consist of whatever I can reach by land on the norhthsore of Lake Pontchartain. No boat or traps here. Just using some two ringed nets. Hopefully things will pick up soon. even if it doesn't, at least I can get some peace and quiet away from the nonsense at the house.

hello Northshore friend. I'm Ronnie and live in Kenner. I'm commercial and fish Lk Pontchartrain also mostly on the south shore. Plenty of guys from around here on the BCA. I know you are knew so watch the post for the WYE get together.
