Went crabbing in AP this past weekend and not much to report.  Had a couple of traps out and caught 13 females and 2 undersized males. Came home with nada.  Had fun anyway.

My son had open heart surgery so I have not had my traps out for a couple of weeks but crabbing was good the last couple of times I had my traps out. I crab West Galveston Bay.  The crabs have been running small with a lot of females though. We had one of the worst droughts in recent history and the bays were to salty for the crabs to reproduce. The drought seems to have been broken and crabbing is getting better for me.

The terrible drought and very high summer temperatures we had last year are coming back to haunt us this year.  Sad

The drought over the last two/three years has had a drastic impact on crabbing and fishing for that matter. We got some spring rains but but nearly enough.
