Crabs are their, i would say i caught about 20 or so in around 3 hours, Only 4 barely legal keepers came home with me this trip however all the others were just about to size also. So i guess this is a good sign and in the next few weeks it should be full on and only get better in the area.

I had my son with me so after we did the bridge we went down to the beach and did some fishing, did not have the same luck. I did see some lines off the pier and i heard a few kids passing by commenting on a guy catching some crabs.

The only part that sucked.

As we went from the bridge to the beach i decided to leave my 1/4 bushel pot loaded with bait, i knew this was not the best idea but i wanted to see if it would pick anything up while we fished, so i found a spot off the side of the bridge by some brush and dropped it in and covered the line and tied it off. Sure enough on our way home my feeling of the bad idea became apparent because go figure my pot was gone. string and all.

At first i was mad but i figure i had a great day with my boy, bigger and better crabs are on the horizon and if someone out their is now  slightly happier because they go about stealing recreational fisherman's gear on fathers day none the less then i am glad for them because they must have a really terrible life, Lesson learned.

Same thing happens in the creeks at woodlandn I never set up big pots there as they will disappear the same day you set them!
