When is this wind going to lay down. Today ESE/SSE 15-20. When you're 10 miles out it gets very rough. Tides are up 1' above normal which is good. Pounds are picking up but no quality to the crabs.
51 lbs no. 1's, 78 lbs no. 2's Fat crabs to restaurant
11 lbs no. 1's, 55 lbs no. 2's, 15 lbs females, 66 lbs factory
total 276 pounds of crabs.

Yeah. We didn't start catching good crabs till August last year. By then nobody wanted them.
August family money goes to school tuition, books, supplies and uniforms so sales fall off. September picks up a little bit with Labor Day weekend. October is OK on weekends because of LSU and Saints football games but we have to watch out because churches and schools have their fun raising events and nobody buys crabs on those weekends. By November everybody is thinking oysters and turkey so sales fall off again.
Yeah it doesn't look good.
