Old Grouchy uses a paring knife, and he's not real picky about the knives. No mallet, no crackers, no nuttin like that.

I voted claw cracker (have some anciant ones). But we use all of the above.. We love dunking in cider vinegar as well. Sounds wierd but tastes great.

DULL paring knife. As younger man wanted to emulate macho grandfather, so picked up habit of cracking claws with hands. Usually pick up a lot of wounds also, depending on amount of accompanying beverages.
